RN Supervisor - Emergency Room*
Provides oversight for Emergency department. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise. Strong customer service skills required. Supervises nurses and staff and takes administrative responsibilities. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks, must be able to complete projects with minimal oversight. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the ED Director. Must have strong computer skills and be fluent in excel. On-call time may be required in the director’s absence and at times may be required to flex into staffing to meet the needs of department.
Education: Minimum of Associate's Degree in Nursing, Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in an Emergency Department. One (1) year in supervisory or CNL capacity preferred.
Skills: Interview others; Team facilitation & meeting skills with effective conflict resolution skills.
Licenses/Certifications: Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state RN license and American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
(AHA) ACLS for: Cath Lab, ED, GI, ICU, Nursing Admin (Float Pool), PACU, PAT, Radiology, Telemetry, Urgent Care
(AHA) PALS or ENPC for: ED
(AHA) PALS for: Med/Surg, PACU & UC
(All new graduate nurses or nurses new to specialty area have 180 days in which to obtain American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS, (AHA) PALS or (AHA)NRP, as required by unit).
Preferred: American Heart Association (AHA) NRP for ED
