Patient Access Representative
Performs patientregistration and office support duties of a complex nature. Provides quality customer service to internaland external customers. Participates in the collection of up-front revenue dueto the facility.
Verifies andaccurately enters demographic information in the hospital computer system.Verifies and accurately enters insurance information in the hospital computersystem. Responsible for maintaining and completing accurate bed check and midnight censusprocess. Completes all forms related tothe registration process to maintain compliance with hospital and regulatoryagencies. Initiates DES application on all uninsured patients or underinsuredpatients.
Education: High School diploma/GED orequivalent experience required.
Experience: One year of data entry and customerservice relations required. Medicalterminology preferred. One year ofregistration experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred.
Skills: Ability to read and write Englishfluently; personal computers skills; ability to maintain good customerrelations; ability to explain basic corporate compliance policies; problemsolving and communication skills.
