Full Time, Days 7p-7a schedule.

The Monitor Tech scans cardiac monitors and reports significant changes to licensed staff. Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors.Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat.Ensures that monitors are functioning properly.Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Receives, greets, and directs visitors and hospital personnel providing accurate responses in a friendly, courteous manner.   

Receives, places, and transfers telephone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette; records and communicates or delivers messages accurately and timely.  Performs clerical duties related to procedures such as admission, discharge, transfer, and death. Keeps patient records current. Receives service and information requests and responds by initiating proper direction in a timely manner.   Completes necessary forms, requisitions, and communications with high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.  Maintains appropriate levels of forms, materials, and supplies in a cost effective manner consistent with unit needs; maintains clean, hazard free and responsive work station.  Types correspondence and reports, photocopies information, files information. Prioritizes work and provides prompt and efficient service.   Maintains close communication with the volunteers to maximize their contributions.                                                

Ensures proper handling of specimens and timely reporting of laboratory and other diagnostic results.   Assists nursing personnel and physicians as appropriate. Utilizes vocera, intercom and paging systems appropriately. Assists as a monitor tech as well as billing auditor. 

Performs other job duties relevant to the position as assigned.        



Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements        


High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience required, as is a basic EKG class. 

Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program, Medical Assistant Program, or EMT program preferred.


One (1) year experience in hospital or nursing home strongly preferred.        


Ability to follow written and oral instructions and established procedures.


Required: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
