The Sterile Process (CS) Tech is directly responsible for ensuring surgical instruments and equipment is sterilized using proper procedures and ensuring standards are met.


The Sterile Process Tech is responsible for requisitioning all autoclaving supplies, instruments and implantable devices used in the daily operation of the department and equipment used in patient care. Performs all aspects of the sterilization process including decontamination, assembly, packaging and the biological and chemical monitoring of the sterilizers and thorough documentation of the processes and results.


The Sterile Process Tech acts as an important resource to the operating room staff and performs other job duties relevant to the position assigned.



This PRN (Per Diem) position is scheduled 1 or more shifts per week based on the needs of the department.





High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of certification course as a Sterile Processing Technician strongly preferred.



Previous experience with surgical instruments/equipment processing and terminology preferred.



Ability to follow written/oral instructions and established procedures, and to give/receive oral and written communication. 

Ability to learn and retrain information. 

Basic computer skills. 

Ability to learn Sterile Processing computer systems.
