Behavioral Health Tech - PRN - Nights
PRN Per Diem , Nights Shift - Shift 7p-7a , 1-2 shifts weekly as needed , additional hours possible
The Behavioral Health Technician in the Behavioral Health department at Oro Valley Hospital provides direct patient care to adults with psychiatric disorders and ensures the safety and well-being of patients, ages 40 and above. This 17-bed specialty behavioral health unit is for voluntary psychiatric patients only.
The BHT monitors unit patients and completes rounds as assigned. Participates in treatment planning by helping to identify patients' problems, needs & strengths, reports all areas of concern regarding patient's mental or physical status to the Charge Nurse.
The BHT assists in obtaining vital signs, safety search of patients and personnel belongings, obtaining specimens and orienting new patients to unit. Carries out clerical and administrative assignment to support patient care and department operations including taking and routing telephone calls.
High School or equivalent required.
Post High School vocational/specialized training preferred.
Minimum One (1) year experience in behavioral health or caring for the elderly required.
American Heart Association BLS (CPR)
Handle With Care (HWC) certification required within 30 days of start date
