Additional services include outpatient imaging and laboratory, sleep centers, physical therapy, and a cardiac cath lab. Description
 
Summary:  Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensures the delivery of quality occupational therapy services for inpatients and outpatients by identifying patient needs and developing quality occupational therapy programs.
2. Plans a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational and social activities to provide occupational therapy to patients.
3. Designs and fits adaptive devices such as splints and braces for patient use, based on patient disability and rehabilitation needs.
4. Documents patient care efficiently and effectively, preparing a written evaluation and placing it in the nursing chart promptly.
5. Communicates with medical and allied health personnel regarding patient's progress, needs an discharge planning.
6. Assists in training occupational therapy students.
7. Maintains personal, professional and institutional certification and regulatory requirements by attending conferences, committee meetings, personal development and attending outside educational programs.

Qualifications
 
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in occupational therapy required.
 
Experience: One (1) year of acute care experience strongly preferred.
 
Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills required.  Computer literacy strongly preferred.
 
Licenses/Certifications: Required: Current AZ licensure as an Occupational Therapist; BLS certification
