The Scope Tech in the GI Lab is a Sterile Process Tech for the GI department and is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of scopes after procedures are completed.
Responsible for monitoring the sterilizing equipment and the ordering of scope room supplies and high level disinfectant.
Coordinates with staff regarding any immediate turn-around instrumentation/scopes and utilizes the next day's procedure schedule to set priorities.     


High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.  Completion of certification course as a Sterile Processing Technician strongly preferred.                                                
Must have previous OR/SPD/GI experience; 1 year minimum.
Previous experience with surgical instruments/equipment processing and terminology preferred.                                                
Ability to follow written / oral instructions and established procedures, and to give / receive oral and written communication. 
Ability to learn and retain information.  Basic computer skills.
Ability to learn Sterile Processing computer systems.
