Position Purpose                                                                
The Floor Tech in the Housekeeping , Environment Services department Cleans and maintains buildings and facilities and Coordinates the activities of and works with groups of housekeeping personnel engaged in housekeeping functions, especially floors and special projects. May lead environmental staff.                                                        
  • Demonstrates use of cleaning materials and equipment and explains methods of cleaning to ensure the most efficient and economical use of materials and manpower.                                                
  • Leads, trains and works with cleaning crew in assigned areas; interprets policies and procedures for them.                                        
  • Inspects equipment used in performance of duties for proper functioning; makes minor repairs or adjustment.                                        
  • Inspects supplies and requisitions them  from stock.                        
  • Maintains required records, staffing levels, reports, and statistics as directed.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs. Current literature, in-service workshops and meetings.
  • Attends meetings as required.                                                
  • Demonstrates proficiency at hospital wide and/or department specific computer software and technology.                                         
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to facilitate the efficiency and mission of the department.                                                
  • Displays consistent customer service-oriented attitude to insure positive interaction with departments and co-workers.                                
  • Performs other job duties relevant to the position as assigned.        

Prefer High School or equivalent.
Previous housekeeping experience preferred (routine/project cleaning), preferable in healthcare.
